MARCH, 2014 BULLETIN- ‘PHOENIX’

On 30^th of March 2014, Rotary Club of Duliajan organized a seminar “SAMPREETI” on Peace & Conflict Resolution.  The seminar was addressed and attended by big luminaries including Dr Sri Sri Pitamber Deva Goswami, Satradhikar, Auniati Satra who in His Divine presence illuminated the seminar and enlightened the audience.

The seminar was also addressed by Rtn Arijit Kumar Endow, District Governor, RI District 3240; Rtn Aditya Goswami, Assitant Governor (Zone 12); Rtn Dr Amal Kumar Deka, President(2013-14), Rotary Club of Duliajan; Rtn Dr Jayanta Kumar Goswami, Chairman, Organizing Committee “Sampreeti”; Rtn K.R.Dey, PDG and Rtn Kalpana Khound, PDG.   The distinguished speakers were Shri Samudra Gupta Kashyap, noted journalist; Shri Varunoday Sharma, Resident Chief Executive, Oil India Limited; Shri Mrinal Hazarika, Eminent Peace Lover; Dr Rajib Handique, Professor, Gauhati University (Peace Scholar); Smt Samprity Goswami, Circle Officer, Naharkatia (Peace Scholar); Dr Satyakam Borthakur, Associate Professor, Dibrugarh University; Dr Aparna Mahanta, Professor (Retired), Dibrugarh University; Rtn Gayatri Bhattacharyya, Member, Board of Studies, Gauhati University.

The seminar  turned out to be a big success compelling the participants  to broach their minds and find ways to resolve the conflicts in day to day life in such a manner that life goes on peacefully.  The essence of the seminar cannot be delineated in words  but the crux came out in such lucid manner that “ Peace is an illusion and conflict is a reality. We must learn to accept, respect the celebrate the conflict so that peaceful solutions are found out”. The genesis of conflict is nothing but  difference of opinion and without conflict, a man’s personality cannot grow and human civilization cannot progress. The purpose of the occasion has been well served and we hope for similar  seminars in  times to come so that human society grows in a coherent and well knit manner.
